On a stormy day at Mousehole on 20th December 2013 I was on the rocky beach seeing if there were any birds to be photographed, when to my surprise and privilege I saw an Otter in the distance with a large fish.
It was around 3.30 and the light wasn’t brilliant, to my amazement the Otter came nearer, i stayed glued to the spot rather than scare it off completely. Eventually it came onto the rocks nearby, and then disappeared into the rocks to eat it’s catch. The pictures below show the story .

Mousehole Carnival is on from Friday 23th August until Monday 15th. For full details pick up a programme from the shops or car parks in the village. During most afternoons there are activities for the children on the beach or in the legion if the rain persists. On Saturday evening down at the legion is musician Graham Hart, on Sunday there's a quiz in the Legion and the Shirts playing down at the ship Inn from 9pm. On Monday during the afternoon there are various art activities taking place, and in the evening the excellent Boogaloo Dudes are playing – all who attended their set last year thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There's lots more on, like I said go get a programme.

At last mousehole is starting to wake up ! The baulks are out of the harbour, and the temperature is rising. Easter is traditionally when the season starts in most of Cornwall, and Mousehole is no exception. If you want peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, and just to unwind then this is the place for you.
In good weather then there's plenty for all the family to do, on the small beach, in the water, and exploring the rocks. If on the other hand you want lots of family entertainment, then you'll have to travel further east.
Please see our mousehole page for more information and links
